SCOPE
Neutrons can see inside the material: they penetrate deep into matter, and reveal "where atoms are and what atoms do". Neutron probe has enormous and positive consequences for science and society, enabling scientist of all disciplines to investigate materials in situ, in vivo, in real time and for real life applications.
The Symposium brings together national and international experts from facilities and stakeholders to discuss existing neutron sources and the ESS project as present and future opportunity for the Italian Research.
The event aims at in-depth look at and discussion, to further expand the partnerships and collaborations among the participants, to strengthen cooperation and bonds within the Italian system and the international network of neutron facilities. It also represents a further way for Italian public and private Research to meet. The event will be an opportunity to introduce the coordinated research initiatives of fourteen Working Groups composed by Italian researchers working in national and international laboratories.
The Symposium is organised by the Ministry of Research and Ministry of Health, the Embassy of Italy in Sweden, the Association of Italian Institutions of Higher Education (CRUI), the Italian Research Centres - CNR, ENEA, INFN, ISS, Sincrotrone Trieste - and Rogante Engineering.
